I put this question to the Minister for Climate Change and Energy Chris Bowen this week: What action is the Minister taking to fix Australia’s fuel supply shortages?
Minister Bowen’s answer? It’s the fault of everyday Australians for panic buying.
1. Labor cannot even identify where the fuel shortages are occurring, despite their own department providing them with detailed local data.
2. Labor cannot give Australians any assurance that fuel supplies in regional and rural communities are secure, putting transport, farming and our food supply chain at risk.
3. Labor keeps insisting there is no problem, yet people on the ground are telling a very different story. Truck drivers, farmers and regional businesses are already feeling the squeeze. And also: how dare he blame everyday Australians?
