Federal Member for Parkes Jamie Chaffey has welcomed an announcement by Evolution Mining Ltd that it will develop the E22 block cave at the Northparkes site north-west of Parkes.
Evolution Mining Ltd made a number of announcements this week, including development of the E22 block cave with a capital investment of $545 million, approval of the Northparkes Coarse Particle Flotation Project with a capital investment of $75 million, and approval of the $14 million Northparkes Expansion Study.
“This Evolution Mining announcement is good news not only for Parkes, but for the central-west region of New South Wales and a strong sign of confidence in Australia’s critical minerals future,” Mr Chaffey said.
“The Northparkes copper-gold mine has been part of the economic landscape of the region since 1994 and this news shows it will be in operation for many years to come. Northparkes employs more than 400 employees and over 150 contractors, making it a significant contributor to the region.
“This investment in the future will bring benefits for long-term local employment, jobs for local tradespeople and support for the community through the Northparkes Community Investment Program.”
